That Actually Feel Like You!

What Does Your Headshot’s Facial Expression Say About You?
Ever wondered what your face communicates during interactions? Facial expressions can invite others in or push them away.
Facial expressions signal to others that you are someone they should approach or someone they should avoid.
Let’s ensure yours sends the right message—approachable, confident, and genuine.

Expression Coaching
As your headshot photographer, I know a lot of people worry their professional photos will look stiff, forced, or outdated. And honestly? They’re right to worry—because expression is where most headshots fall flat. Good lighting helps, but it’s not the full story. What really matters is capturing something real. I can spot a bad expression from a mile away, and I won’t sell an image that doesn’t pass my sniff test. We’ll work together to get professional photos that not only reflect your personality but feel true to who you are—clean, modern, and built to last.
Can Corporate Headshots Be Authentic and Not Cheesy?
Absolutely! If the thought of posing for a corporate headshot makes you uneasy, you're not alone.
Many believe they'll never look great in these photos. But here at my studio near Oakville and Burlington, we've reimagined the process to ensure your headshot reflects your true self—no forced smiles, just genuine expressions.

On-Site Image Selection
No one wants to be stuck with a huge gallery and zero direction. We’ll go through your professional photos together, right after the session, so you only buy the ones that work.
This part’s built into the coaching—one part strategy, one part that instant “that’s the shot” reaction. We’re after headshots that feel like you and actually stop people. You only get a split second to make an impression—let’s make sure it counts.
Actors, Think Your Talent Should Be Booking More Roles?
If you’re serious about acting, your headshot needs to work as hard as you do. Casting directors don’t read between the lines—they scroll fast and stop when they see someone they can believe in.
Great acting headshots show your range, your vibe, and your castability without saying a word. That’s exactly what we create here—actor headshots that get you in the room.

Professional Retouching Included
Every headshot you buy includes professional retouching done by hand, not filters or quick presets. This careful editing ensures you look like your best self. It might involve evening out your skin tone, softening fine lines, removing blemishes, fixing stray hairs, or adjusting colours for a natural look. The goal is to enhance your expression without hiding who you are. You receive a polished, professional photo that still feels genuine, all at no extra cost and without long waits for your final image.

The cost of a headshot in Oakville can vary significantly based on the photographer's skill and experience. Beginner photographers may charge as little as $50 to $150 for a session. However, for professional quality and expertise, the minimum spend at our Oakville studio is $275. This investment ensures you receive a high-quality headshot that accurately represents your professional image. With experienced photographers, you can expect superior lighting, expert posing guidance, and advanced retouching to enhance your final images.

The outfits we choose for your professional headshot will depend mostly on usage and industry. Seasonality can also impact your outfit styling as well.
I always recommend that my clients bring all of their favourite pieces to the studio so we can have that conversation and style you on the spot.
It's impossible to overpack, but some things that people often forget to bring are:
Basic Tops: Plain, solid colour tees, tanks, fitted sweaters, camisoles etc. These can transform any look into something more casual and relaxed.
Prescription Glasses: One of my favourite style accessories! If you wear glasses and have options, bring them all. It's nice to play with different frames but it's also nice to have backup options if we are contending with difficult reflections.
Jewelry: For head and shoulder headshots, I advise against jewelry as it can be distracting. However, for portraits, it's all fair game!
Additionally, if it's in the budget, I work with some great professional stylists from Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton who I can refer.

You get to select and purchase as many images as you like at your session.
I shoot all portraits and headshots tethered. That’s just a fancy way of saying the shots in my camera go straight to my laptop so you can see them on a larger screen, in real time.
As we shoot, I mark the best photos so we can talk about what we see and what needs to be fixed before we continue taking photos.
After your session, we go through the list together to narrow down only the images you want to purchase
As much as I’d like to think I have the eye to find your best side, YOU are the one who gets the final say. But I an 100% there for you for recommendations and advice!

One of the things that I believe sets this studio apart from other photographers in Burlington and Oakville is that professional retouching is included with every image purchase. This is done by hand, not using filters, so I have the ultimate control and ability to fine tune how drastic the retouch turns out.
While I believe less is more when it comes to retouching, if certain things stand out in your headshot that you wish to have adjusted, we can discuss them during your session.

Headshots are a very specific type of photography that even a lot of photographers misname.
All professional headshots are portraits, but not all portraits are headshots.
A professional headshot should be taken close up so the focus is on the face and your expression, preferably taken in a studio on a plain background.
Within portrait photography, there are many other sub genres but the main distinction is that a portraits often, but not always pose the rest of the body. Some types of portraits may include:
Branding Photos (Environmental Portraits)
Business Portraits (Corporate Photography)
Glamour Portraits
Commercial Portraits
Fashion Photography
Beauty Photography
The list goes on! While I do offer portrait sessions along side headshot sessions, my philosophy is that while everyone may need a headshot, most people don't always need a portrait.

Most people hate having their pictures taken. I mean, they literally would do anything to avoid it. I get it. I'm one of them, which is why I got into photography in the first place….
It's hard to know what your face is doing when you can't see it. Truth is, the perfect shot exists in everyone and we WILL get yours. That's a promise.
Remember, your session length is flexible. I'm not here to rush you if we don't have to. We will shoot as much as we need for as long as we need and I guarantee we'll bring out an expression you didn't know you had.

I pride myself on offering a very specific and consistent style of headshot to my clients, but I also love colouring outside the lines. If you have a unique style of photography you love or need to match other headshots for your company or personal collection, send me some examples and I would be happy to accommodate your preference.
-
Absolutely. For some people, it makes the experience way more comfortable. But, you might want to warn them. I WILL try to take their picture!
-
Absolutely! Event headshots are not only a specialty of mine but also one of my favourite ways to assist vendors in generating valuable leads. If you'd like to dive deeper into how I approach this, give me a call!

As many as you need, no more and no less. Images are sold individually on-site after your session, and it is a guided process. That means you don’t need to spend a week sorting through 200 photos and feel overwhelmed making a choice, not knowing what to even look for. I will never sell you an image that I don’t think puts your best foot forward, and I won’t stop shooting until you get an image you are thrilled about.

This is a great option if you have a large team and something I offer for individuals and teams, large or small. If you are looking to have several people photographed in a single day, I do offer group sessions up to 12 people in studio with a reduced session rate or I can come to your location. Location fees apply.
